Clayworks Studio

Studio Membership

Your own studio time

Studio Membership is for potters who already know their way around a wheel. Work independently during open studio hours, at your own pace, without a tutor in the room.

Keep your work safe

Your personal shelf space means works in progress stay exactly where you left them — no rush to finish, no clearing up at the end of class.

What's included

Access to the wheels

Throw whenever you want during open studio hours. Tuesday and Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons — the schedule is on the Timetable page.

Personal shelf space

Store your work in progress safely. Your pieces stay put between sessions, so you can work on them whenever you're back.

Kiln access

Fire your finished work when you're ready. Glazing and bisque firings included — just bring your pieces and let us know when.

Is membership right for you?

Studio Membership works best if you've completed our Beginners Wheel-Throwing Course, or have equivalent experience from elsewhere. You'll be working without a tutor in the room, so you need to be confident at the wheel and comfortable solving your own problems — though we're always happy to help if something isn't working.

How to join

Tell us about yourself

Fill out the Contact form and let us know you're interested in membership. Tell us a bit about your experience — where you've thrown before and how long you've been at it.

We'll confirm availability

We keep membership numbers limited to make sure everyone has real access to the wheels and kiln. We'll get back to you to confirm we have shelf space and discuss what comes next.

Start throwing

Once you're set up, you're free to come in during open studio hours whenever it suits you. Work at your own rhythm and make what you want.
